Gary Jude Cook, 62 years old, of Academy Avenue, Providence passed away at home Monday, March 25th, 2024. Born and raised in Providence, RI, he was the son of Walter H. and Margaret E. (Tracy) Cook.
Gary graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in 1979. He worked as a Process Monitor at the Narragansett Bay Commission for 39 years. Friends and co-workers shared a deep appreciation for Gary’s dedication to his job.
Gary was a great athlete, avid sports lover and lifelong fan of the L.A. Lakers and Oakland A’s. He also loved animals and sports handicapping.
Gary is survived by his father, Walter Cook, brothers, David Cook (fiancé, Maria Batastini) and Gregg Cook (wife, Diane Cook), and sister, Kerrin Cook. Additionally, Gary leaves behind three nieces, Krystle Cook, Talia Cook, Serena Cook and nephew, Gregg Cook, Jr.
Gary is predeceased by his mother, Margaret Cook, sister Kristen Cook, and nephew Daniel Cook.
Visiting hours are Thursday March 28th from 5:00-8:00pm at J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Ave, Providence, RI. A private Christian Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence on Saturday, March 30th at 11:45am. Relatives and friends are welcome.
