My sweet Padrinho,

What can I say? I love and admire you more than mere words can describe. You were as large as life to me and always a force to be reckoned with, right up until your very last breath. You showed me what it meant to not only be a man, but to be a gentleman of class and dignity.

Your genuine nature and unfiltered wit and humor was a gift to us all. You were a bright shining light for not only me and the family, but for every soul you touched.

I can only pray that I will one day have the opportunity to impart half of the wisdom you imparted on me to the future generations of our family and loved ones.

I am so blessed to have had you, to have known you, and to have shared in your final moments here on earth.

Although I miss you more than you could possibly imagine, I take peace in knowing you will not suffer any longer and that you passed with the same grace and dignity in which you lived. You did it your way, Bob’s way.

I know you will never truly be gone, and will always walk alongside me in spirit. I will be with you every time I hear Ahmad Jamal on the piano keys or sip on an ice cold Miller Lite.

Every time I bang a quick left on a fresh green light and exclaim “you first, but after me!” or when I pray to Saint Anthony for lost keys or glasses.

Every time I make sure to leave the bottom button of my vest or blazer undone, or don a shiny pair of cuff links.

Every time I set a formal place setting (with proper stemware and linens included, of course)…

I know you’ll be with me.

Although your loss leaves behind an irreplaceable gap in our lives, I know you were greeted with the warmest of welcomes upstairs, and that you are swing dancing through paradise with your beloved Angel and Rudy by your side.

Heaven gained a beautiful angel last week, and I promise we will hold down the fort here on earth in your absence.

Until we meet again Padrinho, I love you with all of my heart. Thank you for being you.

Joshua - (West Hollywood, CA)

Bob you are a special chararacter that kept all of us on our toes. You were a gentleman, classy, astounding, and if you were to be in a debate, hands down you would always win! Your "Hutzpah" is dynamic and unforgettable. I have so many wonderful memories of you, and I am glad that you were "lucid," on the day you a, andnd I spoke back in December hear me say. "I Love You". You know that there isn't anyone else that can make me an outburst and assisit in forgetting your troubles. Only You Bob!! You can now entertain the angels in heaven on "Center Stage" & have my Mum laugh again and welcome you. I will keep my eye on David even though I know that you will be watching him as you start a peacful journey. You will never be forgotton, the "Ultimat eInfallible-Sir Bob". David, Evangeline, Joshua, & Caleb are the angels that were troopers. They all made sure that you receive all the attention, care and love that you deserve.
