I had Mr. Pinardi for sculpture at RI College in 1974 I think. I remember him as being a teacher who encouraged me to work hard. He wasn’t about how many pieces of sculpture you could produce in a semester but the quality of your work. I have fond memories of really enjoying his class.
My sincere condolences to the Pinardi family.

It was 1971 and I was a new graduate of RIC. Henry was the soul of the Art Dept. That summer I was fortunate enough to be one of Henry's kids on Martha's Vineyard. I learned so much from him about embracing life, turning hardships into a party. He and his family became family to me.
To all his family I send condolences on such a loss.
Wherever he is I know he is shining a bright light on all of you.

Dear Gayle,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss-I remember your excitement when you reconnected with Henry and made plans to wed. Such a wonderful tribute to his amazing life as an artist and teacher in the
Globe! I doted on my cats in his memory and will tip generously at Bertucci's next time as directed.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I loved taking Henry's classes in the study of the figure and painting. ...I didn't graduate from RIC. When I told him I would come back he said "you won't". He was right, of course. I suppose he knew what kind of avalanche I was heading for. That was 1978... I am still an artist and try to remember ever thing he taught me. One thing was to work with what you have. He took a paper lunch bag filled with pens, pencils and crayons. You pulled out 3 things and had to draw with whatever you pulled out. Great way to loosen you up. He knew things like that. You gotta love him. I know I do.

Henry was the best man at our wedding. He was a great friend and someone we respected for his incredible skills as an artist and his wonderful personality.
