Norma E. McCaughey (Diggett) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late John McCaughey Jr.

Born on October 1, 1937, Norma was one of nine children born to Albert and Blanche (Chenail) Diggett. She was also the cherished sister-in-law of the late Mary Ann (McCaughey) and John Kaveny.

Norma’s life was a testament of unconditional love, care, and service to her family. She was the proud mother of six children, the late James (Michelle) McCaughey, Robert (Kimberly) McCaughey, Donna (Michael) Cullinan, Mary Ellen (Michael) Bowron, William (Jennifer) McCaughey, and the late Nancy (Steve) Riendeau, whose lives she enriched with her warmth, understanding, and unwavering support. Norma is survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in their hearts.

Norma found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed traveling around New England for lunch with her sister and nieces. She was a devoted reader of the newspaper, never missing a crossword puzzle, and loved spending time watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Whether cheering on the Boston Red Sox or enjoying a performance at the Providence Performing Arts Center, Norma embraced both sports and the arts with equal passion. However, her happiest moments were spent running "Camp Grammy," where she cherished watching and caring for her beloved grandchildren.

Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit and the lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have been touched by her life.

Viewing to be held Monday, October 28th from 5:00-7:pm at Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.
