James (Nick) Hagopian

James (Nick) Hagopian, 85, of Hope Street, Providence passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Hospice Care of Rhode Island Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was born January 12,1929, the son of the late Paul and Mary Hagopian of Hope Street and was the brother of the late Sonya Hagopian Dondero of Burrillville.

James will be missed by his dear friends at Roberto's Barber Shop on Empire Street in Providence.

He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1941 at the age of 17 with the permission of his parents. He was too young to be drafted and wanted to serve his country that he loved after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Following the time in the Marine Corps, Mr Hagopian attended school through the GI Bill. He worked as a Supervisor Auditor at the United States Rubber Company in Providence. He also prepared taxes for over 45 years for clients whom he considered friends.

His funeral will be held Monday, September 15, 2015 at 2-4pm at the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island 02908. Reverend Father Shnork Souin of Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church will perform the service. James will be buried in Swan Point Cemetery 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, Rhode Island with his Father, Mother and Sister at 2:15pm on Tuesday, September 16th. Relatives and friends are invited.
