Fanny G. Provost

Fanny G. Provost, 67, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23rd, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.

Fanny, lovingly known as Flaca and Ani, was the oldest of seven children born in Colombia. She immigrated to the United States in 1967 settling in Brooklyn, NY. In 1973 Fanny moved to Miami Beach. Florida where she embarked on a career in the hospitality industry and raised her two children, Jazzy and Johnny.

In 1985, Fanny moved to Rhode Island settling in Warwick, and pursuing a career in real estate, eventually becoming a real estate agent for DeFelice-Coldwell Banker and Century 21. She then became an independent broker and opened up Fanny Provost Realty in Pawtucket.

Fanny was involved in many community organizations, volunteering her time and expertise. She was actively engaged in Make-A-Wish, Little Sisters of the Poor, and also held seminars for anyone looking to become a real estate agent.

Fanny is survived by her mother, Gina Castellanos-Navarrete of Barranquilla, Columbia; her daughter, Jazmine Geremia and her husband Kevin of North Providence; her brothers and sisters Alejandro, Miriam, Martin, Katy, all of Columbia; Felipe, of Venezuela; and Gloria of Germany. She was doting grandmother to Francesca Geremia of North Providence and Alexis Provost of Riverside, California. She was daughter of the late Luis Castellanos-Navarrete, and mother to the late John A. Provost, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to a mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00am in St. Raymond's Church, 1240 North Main Street Providence. Burial will be private. Visiting hours in the J. F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence on Friday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00pm
