Mary Roderick Sturrup, 97, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at home surrounded by her loved ones. 

She is survived by her 3 children, Peter Roderick of Providence, David Roderick of East Providence and Margaret Green of Fontana, California as well as her only surviving sister, Anna Soares Gomes.  She was predeceased by her son Sunni Ali.  She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nana!”

Mary was employed by the Veterans Administrative Hospital for more than 30 years until her retirement.  She enjoyed sewing and cooking. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd, Providence  from 9-11am with a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 290 Arcade Ave., Seekonk, MA at 12pm.
